Mission:

We exist to develop followers of Jesus who love God, love people and take the Gospel to our community and the world.

Purpose:

Welcome to The Connection. As a church we have the clear goal of developing followers of Jesus who love God, love people and take the gospel to our community and the world. Our purpose is best explained with the following acrostic: GOD, Others, Destiny. We help people connect to God through sharing our faith in an authentic and relevant way in our community and the world. We also help people deepen their connection with God by mentoring them and providing venues where they can connect with God through worship, spiritual gifts and instruction in the Bible. We connect people to Others by modeling loving, caring and healthy relationships and by encouraging and providing opportunities for their development. We connect people with their Destiny (life purpose) through prayer, encouragement and training for service in an environment where they can identify and utilize their gifts which are for reaching our community and others worldwide with the Good News, so that eternally we will all worship before the throne together.

Core Values:

Biblical: We believe that God speaks to us through the Bible, and we acknowledge it to be the sovereign authority over our lives as well as our guide for practical living.

Spirit-empowered: We believe that the Holy Spirit is active today, empowering and equipping us with spiritual gifts to share God’s message as well as to encourage, comfort and strengthen people.

Loving: We are passionate about Christ’s command to love one another. We believe healthy relationships are built by expressing love in practical and compassionate ways to one another.

Servant-hearted: We believe that God has given unique gifts to each person and that by developing and using them with excellence we serve Christ by serving others.

Worship: We believe in expressing our love and devotion to God in enthusiastic praise and worship including contemporary music that leads us to experience God’s awesome presence in a powerful way.

Relevant: We believe that we should seek to reach our diverse culture through the use of the arts and other contemporary methods with excellence to communicate God’s message while remaining true to the scriptures.

Outreach: We believe that every person is important to God, therefore we seek to build relationships with those who are without Christ in our community and around the world to introduce them to God’s salvation.

Prayer: We believe that we should pray that God’s will be done on earth. When we pray, God transforms, heals, guides and manifests His power. Therefore we seek to cultivate a lifestyle of fervent prayer through daily personal communion with God and regular prayer gatherings.

Family Focused: We believe that family is important to God; therefore we seek to encourage, and strengthen healthy multi-generational relationships in the individual family and the church family. We seek to achieve this through biblical instruction and by providing opportunities that encourage family strength.

Equipping: We believe God has given to the church leadership for the purpose of equipping God’s people. This is accomplished by training, mentoring, discipling, empowering, and supporting them towards their destiny.
