Youth Ministry

What would happen if a group of radical young believers gathered together at least once a week to worship, pray, learn and practice Kingdom principles? What if that group was totally yielded to God, both inside the four walls of the church and on the battlefields of their schools, homes, and neighborhoods? And what if that group believed that the Holy Spirit still works through believers powerfully to be witnesses in each of their mission fields?

Rendezvous Point Youth Ministry aims to provide a place where middle/high school and college-aged people can gather together in a safe place to learn about the love and relationship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A place to learn how to live a powerful, righteous lifestyle yielded to the Holy Spirit in the midst of a broken and lost world. We carry a mindset intolerable to the work of the devil attempting to ruin the Lord’s will for our lives. In fact, we worship, pray, and live our lives with an offensive, militant, aggressive “…violent, take it by force” mentality, that challenges this devil! We also strive to adequately provide our youth with everything they need in order to effectively execute the ministries God has prepared for them. Here’s a taste of what you can expect to gain from attending The Rendezvous Point:

• A thorough understanding of the scriptures
• A disciplined life of powerful, authoritative prayer
• An understanding of how to and why we worship God
• A personal relationship with the Holy Spirit
• An understanding of the gifts of the Spirit, why we have them and given opportunity to practice them

Groomed for evangelism

An overall progressive relationship with God. Commissioned to not only live a holy life but to orchestrate deliverance and demonstrations of power and love to the friends and family all around

How did the name come about? In the military, the term “Rendezvous Point” is used to describe a meeting place where troops would come together to gather intelligence, equipment, strategy, or anything else needed to perform a successful mission. In the same manner, youth from all over the city of San Diego will gather together on a Wednesday night to get equipped for their own missions. They will get in the presence of God, repent for any sins, be filled with the Spirit, encouraged in the Word and then sent out to their mission fields. Their mission fields could be their schools, homes, neighborhoods, malls, circle of friends, etc. In Joel 2:15-16, we see the Lord called EVERYBODY to come together to cry out in repentance. Then in verses 28-29, it says that afterwards He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh; sons and daughters will prophesy and He will show many wonders in the Heaven and on the Earth. Following this template for Revival, The Rendezvous will gather together in repentance to the Lord wholeheartedly, then press in to be filled with the Spirit consistently. Thus preparing us to be conduits of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world around us. Vessels the Lord can scan the Earth for, find, then show Himself strong on their behalf for His names sake.

Meet Josiah Elias! The Youth Pastor of Rendezvous Point Youth Ministry.

I am a passionate Revivalist from the heart of San Diego! Jesus Christ has absolutely rocked my world and burned within me a vision to see my city transformed by the Power of God! I consider myself an offensive Christian…not a timid one, thinking “let’s sit back, watch and hope that God does something.” No, no, no, my mentality is, God placed this vision within my heart to do something with it! Now let’s violently take the Kingdom of Heaven by FORCE, advancing it for the Glory of God! Let’s make something happen, and by His grace and power, be successful!!!!

2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, looking to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to Him.” I want to be the ONE that the Lord finds in San Diego. The one He uses to orchestrate Saints into offensive warfare. Preparing, equipping, and raising up new leaders with Kingdom mentality to fight for their lives, families and cities. What would happen if we all thought like this? We’d see an army emerge of vessels He can use in order to bring a spiritual awakening of Love, Power, Repentence, and Glory to His name!

Internship

The Connection runs a special program for those who desire to serve above and beyond the normal volunteer level. Often people who have time and a fervent vision for service alongside the pastoral team, desire to join our intern team. This program allows the interns to serve in various support areas of church life, be instructed and mentored by the church staff, and learn “the ministry” from the inside out. This program requires a one-year commitment and a willingness to give sacrificial service working alongside the church staff, in assignments ranging from prepping for the Connection Café to leading prayer times. The program is designed to help the student develop their Bible study skills, speaking skills and Spirit gifts, should they be looking for a doorway into full or part-time ministry.
